Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue E. Taylor is an American stage actress and producer, is well-known for her role in the film Ray Undercover Brother as well as appearing in The Mentalist. She received a B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting from Tisch School of Acting at New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in theater, film and television. Her career in acting began at the theatre. She then appeared in various television series as well as independent and mainstream films. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she received critical acclaim and numerous nominations and awards including an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for the best Actress. In 1995, she was the first to appear in the role of Ariel on the stage on stage in The Tempest. The stage credits she has received include The Broadway performance that Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In the film industry she is most famous for roles such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. The role she played as a regular on ABC's drama police series High Incident earned her praises.
