Jana Kramer became famous on the television show, playing Alex on One Tree Hill's last three seasons. Jana Kramer's debut country album were included in episodes of the show which helped propel her debut album of 2012 to in the Top 20 of the Billboard 200. Thirty One, her follow-up album from 2015, reached the Top Ten. Her decade ended with appearances on Dancing with the Stars and in several TV movies alongside a series of non-album singles. In 2021, she released the self-doubting Voices. Jana Rae Kramer was born and raised in Rochester Hills Michigan. She was a child who listened to the country genre, and eventually went on to make a go of it as a recording artist. She made her acting debut as an teen in the 2002 indie horror movie Dead/Undead. She appeared in guest spots for All My Children, CSI: NY and Friday Night Lights in the second season of the series 2007-2008. Kramer next appeared in 90210 in the role of Portia Randson from 2008-2009, and also as Brooke Manning for Entourage 2009. Then in 2009, she was part of the cast of One Tree Hill in the role of Alex Dupre. Kramer remained in the character until about midway through the last season of One Tree Hill. Jana Kramer Kramer began her career as a performer on One Tree Hill in 2011. The actress signed a contract to Elektra Records during this time and debuted the country-rock track "I I Won't Let You Go" in one episode. The track was later featured on her debut album in mid 2012. It reached number five among Billboard Top Country Albums. Her focus was on her musical career following that, and not resigning from acting Kramer appeared in movies like Heart of the Country 2013 and Country Crush 2016 that would appeal to her music fanbase. The second album of Kramer's Thirty One was released by Warner Music Nashville on October 15th of 2015. Thanks to the Top Five country hit I Got the Boy as well as a duet featuring Steven Tyler of Aerosmith it did even better, reaching the top spot of three on the country albums chart and number ten in the Billboard 200. The month of September 2016 saw her appearance in the 23rd season of Dancing with the Stars lasted two months and ended with a 4th-place final. She also scored a hit for adult contemporary by singing the track Feels Like Christmas, featuring Straight No Chaser.
