Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the US of America, is an actor and singer. Her birthplace and childhood was in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) who is a nurse and Tom Bell, a television news director. Kristen is from Polish heritage (mother) in addition to German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen discovered her talents in the world of entertainment at a young age. She was just 12 when she attended her first audition. She was successful and got an appearance in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell's mother signed her up with an agency just before she turned 13; she then appeared in television advertisements as well as newspaper advertisements. Additionally, she began to take private acting classes. Bell played a brief, uncredited role as a character in Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell took part in the drama and music club at Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz was presented by the high school, and she was awarded the role as Dorothy. Following graduation, Bell relocated into New York City to attend the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in which she learned about musical theatre. Bell quit her studies in 2001, and assumed the role of Becky who is a character from Tom Sawyer. In 2001, it was also when Bell's debut appearance was in a film that was credited to her, Pootie Tang (2002). The scene she appeared in is cut off and the credits are all that show her. Bell was in the film with Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson and in the Broadway production of The Crucible in 2002.
